There are two main types of junction boxes: ordinary and potting.
The ordinary junction box is sealed with a silicone sealing ring, and the glue-filled junction box is filled with two-component silica gel. The operation of potting and sealing the junction box is more complicated (two-component silica gel needs to be filled and cured), but the sealing effect is good, and it is resistant to aging, which can ensure the long-term effective sealing of the junction box, and the price is slightly cheaper.
Note: The potted junction box was generally used for thin-film modules before, but now such as Suntech, Canadian Solar, etc., it is also applied to crystalline silicon modules.
There are other classifications of junction boxes, which are classified according to power and connectors, and also classified according to working current of diodes.
