Photovoltaic module EL detector

The full name of EL in English is Electro Luminescence, which is electroluminescence, or it can be called electroluminescence detection. By using the electroluminescence principle of crystalline silicon, with a high-resolution infrared camera to capture near-infrared images of crystalline silicon, image software is used to analyze and process the acquired imaging images to determine defects in solar cells, photovoltaic modules, etc.

At present, EL inspection is applied in the photovoltaic industry, such as defect inspection of photovoltaic modules, internal defect inspection of solar cells, and silicon chip crack inspection. Portable EL detectors are used in photovoltaic modules and photovoltaic power stations, which can adapt to different environments and applications in different places, and facilitate their rapid identification and judgment of internal defects caused by photovoltaic modules.

In the production of solar cells, the EL detector can be applied to the solar cell splitter to identify internal defects that are not easily identified by the machine vision system, such as black cores, dark spots, broken grids, hidden cracks, and debris. In the sorting of cells and silicon wafers, ordinary defects and colors can be identified and judged by the machine vision system, but some internal defects are difficult to identify or missed by the system, which leads to misjudgment or missed judgment of the sorting equipment low efficiency. The current EL tester technology can realize the identification and sorting of the positive and negative defects, colors, and internal defects of the cell. The detection speed has reached the same international level and the detection efficiency has been greatly improved.
